The LA Clippers can use the eight regular season games in Orlando to work on these three things.

With the LA Clippers set to depart for Orlando on July 8, they will begin to prepare for their playoff run and hopeful championship. Before the playoffs though, the team will have to make it through eight regular season games to not only determine their seeding but to get right.

Here are three things they can do during those eight games to make sure they are in peak playoff condition.

1) Get the hunger back

After months of not playing, it is going to be tough for players on every team to come out and be ready to play. Not only have they had to quarantine due to the virus but have had to deal with the racial justice movement in their own ways. This is all to say, basketball has taken a backseat in nearly every player’s life.

So how do you just jump back in and be ready to win? There won’t be any fans to motivate nor give them energy. There won’t be the familiarity of playing on your home court and going through your regular routine.

These eight games provide the Clippers a chance to find what motivates them. Patrick Beverley seemingly already has that mindset. On July 2, Bev said he was going to play “them like Golden State when they had Kevin Durant. Every point guard I play, I’m playing Steph Curry”.

Having a vocal leader like Patrick Beverley who is already fired up will help immensely but the team needs to make sure every player on the roster has that same fire in them by the time the postseason starts.
