Amir Coffey – F

Probably the most likely option for the Clippers to add to their roster is to convert Amir Coffey (and Johnathan Motley) to full contracts and take them to Orlando.

Coffey has been great in his rookie season, despite limited minutes. Averaging only 2.2 points per game on just 39.4% shooting, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists isn’t exactly eye-popping, but he passes the eye test.

Compared to other possible additions, his familiarity with the team and already established chemistry are invaluable.

Again, the 17th rostered player won’t likely touch the court but I can honestly say I feel confident if Coffey does have to get some spot minutes here or there. In the eight remaining games, he can play more if, say, Kawhi needs to load manage.

Converting Coffey to a regular contract is a low-risk, low-reward decision but for a team with not much youth on the roster, having another young player who can develop around is perfect.
