LA Clippers best centers in franchise history: 4) Montrezl Harrell

Montrezl Harrell has spent three seasons in Los Angeles establishing himself as one of the most productive and energetic bench players in the NBA. He’s a vital part of the current Clippers rotation, a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, and hopefully a piece to be retained for the near future of the team.

Harrell came to the Clippers from Houston (along with Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Darrun Hilliard, DeAndre Liggins, Lou Williams, Kyle Wiltjer, $661k cash and a 2018 first round draft pick) in the trade that sent Chris Paul to the Rockets. Since joining Los Angeles he has become the heart and soul of the team’s bench unit providing energy, offense, and more energy when inserted in the game.

Monsta Trez has steadily improved in his three seasons with the team. He’s currently enjoying the most productive campaign of his career posting averages of 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game while playing a career-high 27.8 minutes per game.

He’ll be a free agent at the end of this season and already has Clippers fans saying he’s a must keep for the future of the franchise.

Hopefully the team will be able to retain Harrell at the end of the season and run back one of the deepest rosters in the NBA for at least one more season. His presence on the Clippers bench allows the team to throw many versatile looks at their opponents and keep the pressure on for 48 minutes straight every single night.

If he stays with the Clippers, he may move a few spots higher up this list by the time his playing days are over. But for now, we have him as the fourth best center in Clippers history.
