The LA Clippers are doing their best to keep in shape during the NBA’s hiatus. Keep up with them with this player-inspired at-home workout.

We’re all stuck inside for now, but life still goes on. While the temptation to do nothing but sit on the couch and watch movies, or play NBA 2K is strong, for NBA athletes like members of the LA Clippers, that’s not an option.

The team has been doing what they can to make sure their players stay in shape during the break in NBA action. That means holding team workouts using videoconferencing services, and adding a little inspiration through friendly competition.

“They’re challenging each other, a lot of trash talk,” coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday on a conference call with reporters. “When we come out of this, (there will be) some of the funny stories guys will have about watching each other work out.”

Rivers also told reporters on the conference call that he expects superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to emerge from the hiatus “in phenomenal shape” specifically mentioning that Leonard is getting the chance to train more than he had last offseason.

The head coach talked about the need to keep in shape for the eventual return of the NBA season, in which the Clippers will hope to compete for a championship. He noted that staying in shape and avoiding injuries during the hiatus could lead to a highly competitive NBA playoffs.

“If we do get back to this, and rhythm and all that, bodies won’t be sore, guys should be healthy,” Rivers said. “If we can get back to this and guys can get their rhythm in time, that’ll be the whole key. It can be the best played playoffs in the history because of that.”

The Clippers have also provided workout equipment specifically tailored to each individual player.

This got us thinking: maybe we should get off the couch and move around a little more ourselves. Maybe the Clippers have a point and we can all come out of this quarantine in great shape, even better than ever.

Maybe not. But we still put together this home workout with one exercise inspired by every player on the Clippers. Try it out for yourself!
