2) Zu needs more minutes

Ivica Zubac yet again proved that he needs more minutes. The big man hung with the Lakers centers (JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard) and was extremely useful on defense.

Zu put up 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was the answer to the Lakers’ height advantage and looked like he belonged on the court.

Getting him more minutes has been something we have called for all season. Don’t get Joseph Raya-Ward even started talking about it. (Or do. You can get a long-winded response from him on Twitter.)

How do we find those minutes for him though? Montrezl Harrell, although he doesn’t offer the same size, but his scoring has been phenomenal. It would be near impossible to convince Doc that Trezz and his 19.0 points per game need fewer minutes. I mean, this man is going to be in real consideration for All-Star votes.

Zubac’s seventeen minutes last night could have probably been increased last night. Perhaps he won’t get bigger minutes against all teams, but against teams like the Lakers, 76ers, and Bucks that have more size.

I’m honestly not sure what the answer is, but Zubac is good. He needs more time on the court.
