3. DeAndre Jordan
The third spot on the list goes to the longest-tenured player in LA Clippers’ history, DeAndre Jordan.
DJ came into the league in 2008 as a second-round pick who had upside, but no one really knew what to make of him. He started to come into his own during the 2010-11 season, but it wasn’t until Doc Rivers took over the team that he really exploded.
Although he was never anything more than a lob catcher on the offensive end, DJ and Doc worked to transform him into a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and eventually an All-Star in 2017. DeAndre was named to two First All-Defensive Teams and three All-NBA Teams (two firsts and one third).
DeAndre was part of one of the biggest and most memorable summer events in league history when he was “taken hostage” by his teammates after he had verbally agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2015.
The ploy worked and DJ returned with the Clippers until 2018 when it was finally time for the team and DeAndre to start anew.
He also gave the league some of the most electric highlights, some of which will be on NBA highlights for the rest of time. I’m sorry Brandon Knight.
DJ is as much of a Clipper as there can be and will be remembered as one of the team’s greats.
