2. Paul George is incredible

It’s only taken two games, but all of Clipper Nation is in love with Paul George. It makes sense though, given his incredible performances.

PG dropped a cool 37 points in the win, with 25 of them coming in the first half. Had the game not been such a blowout nor had he been on a minutes restriction, he would have easily gone for 50.

The number of points is impressive, but the efficiency and the minimal amount of time that is the real takeaway.

Over his first two games with the Clippers, George has put up 70 points. He has done so in only 44 minutes of gameplay. That type of efficiency won’t be sustainable, but with him having not played since April, this start is better than we could have imagined.

Once again, some fun stats from the PR team:

  • PG’s 37 points are the most scored in under 27 minutes
  • Here’s a real deep dive. PG has 70 points in 2,663 seconds. That is the fewest amount of seconds in a two-game span by a player who scored 70 points.
  • Paul George surpassed Phil Smith for the most points scored in a Clippers’ debut

On Monday, we should have both Kawhi and Paul on the court together. The scoring might not be as prominent from PG, but the threat of them both on the court together is finally going to become a reality.
