NBA 2K20 doesn’t officially release until tomorrow, but thanks to streamers who received early copies, we can see the LA Clippers’ new home court.

Would it be 2K season if something didn’t leak from the game that the team had not yet officially announced? This year is no different as the LA Clippers’ have had their new home court design leaked.

While no official comment has been released from the team, streamers who received early copies of NBA 2K20 booted up games with the Clippers as the home team and were given quite the surprise.

As opposed to years past, the floor has lost almost all of it’s color. Instead, the team has seemingly embraced the full black and white look. The paint is solid black and the image at center court is also just a black outline of the team’s main logo.

The only color remaining on the court comes from the Staples Center logo (which likely couldn’t legally be changed), the semi-circle line surrounding the high post which is red and the three point line which is blue.

You can view the court on the Clippers subredddit.

It’s also worth noting that the team is really embracing being part of the city as a whole. Much like the mural we saw during the Paul George and Kawhi Leonard press conference, the sidelines of the court show a map of Los Angeles.

It seems that a small sort of “re-branding” is going on with the team. I’m sure many of you noticed last year that the team wore their Statement jerseys a lot last season and with this court change, it seems like black is the new black.  With this court from 2K and the other possible City edition court, the team is all about black.

A small re-brand makes sense given the changes the team underwent this summer, but it’s kind of sad in a way. Many fans wanted the team to embrace the San Diego colors as well as the old red, white and blue variations of jersey’s past. Even the Classic jerseys that were recently announced only have a little color to them.
