The 2019-20 LA Clippers’ schedule has been released and we here at Clipperholics are breaking it down month by month. Next up is November.
In the Clipperholics’ October breakdown, we predicted that the team would lose to the Lakers on the opening night of the regular season. The next five games, however, were predicted as wins over the likes of Golden State, Phoenix, Charlotte, Utah, and San Antonio. A 5-1 record is a good start to the 2019-2020 season, and the team will have already faced two of the best teams in the West, the Warriors and the Lakers.
In November the Clippers will play three back-to-backs. The first will be at home and the other two on the road. The team has an overall homecourt advantage for the month with 9/14 games happening in LA and will face the Jazz and Spurs for the second time. Because the team plays New Orleans and Houston twice, only the first game against each will be examined.
On a final note, before we start, Paul George is projected to be out for the entire month due to his shoulder surgeries during the offseason. These breakdowns and predictions will be respecting that projection.
Sunday, November 3rd – vs. Utah
This will be the second meeting between the Clippers and the Jazz, and it’s a home game. October’s article predicted that the Clippers would win, but mentioned that this game could easily go either way. This second match could go either way as well, but the Clippers do have a few advantages.
Assuming that October’s prediction manifests, the Clippers will have momentum from previously beating the Jazz going into this game. Next, as mentioned before, the Clippers will have the home court advantage. Finally, while the Jazz has improved their roster, and now have proven scorers in Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Rudy Gobert, and Mike Conley.
While their first meeting went the Clippers’ way, I predict that this one will not. The LA Clippers will, unfortunately, start November with a loss against the Utah Jazz and have a couple of days off before their next bout.
