Playoffs Round Two: Clippers Earn a Date with Denver
The Clippers before this matchup had only ever faced Denver once in the postseason in 2006 when they defeated the Nuggets 4-1 in the first round.
Things have changed since then, but lets see if the results have anything to say about that.
Here are the results of the matchups in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Clippers defeat Nuggets 4-2
Lakers defeat Rockets 4-1
The Battle of LA will take center stage in the Western Conference Finals. All but two games in the series were decided by double-digits against Denver as outside of Jokic was handled pretty well by the Clippers defensively.
Meanwhile the Lakers won three of their four games by double-digits against Westbrook and Harden, setting up the MVP LeBron James to face off against two-time NBA Champion Kawhi Leonard in the Clippers’ first ever appearance in the Western Conference Finals.
Out East got very interesting as the Eastern Conference Finals will feature the five seed facing the six seed in the form of Toronto and Philadelphia. The Raptors and Sixers managed to knock out KD/Kyrie and Kemba/Tatum respectively to up end the top seeds in the conference which opens the door for the Battle of LA winner to take the Finals when they get there.
