Montrezl Harrell becomes a more well-rounded player

You know who he is. Montrezl Harrell. Your favorite player’s favorite player. The living embodiment of the Energizer Bunny. What more could we ask for from one of the toughest dudes on the team? Well, Trezz seems to be asking more from himself. He had an Instagram story where he outlined what areas of his game he wants to fine tune for next season.

Those areas?  Ball handling, three-point and free throw consistency, agility, footwork and muscle toning. It is refreshing to see that Trezz can identify his weaknesses and that he has the drive to perfect his game.

Harrell has grown significantly as a player since his time on the Houston Rockets. Below are his averages as a Rocket compared to his stats as a Clipper.

  • Rockets: 6.9 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 0.8 APG, 0.5 BPG
  • Clippers: 13.9 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.0 BPG

There is a clear and definite improvement in Harrell’s stats. Not too many second round picks turn into serviceable NBA players, but Trezz is breaking the mold. He is already one of the most consistent players on the team, and the idea of him improving from three-point land and bettering his handle will make fans foam at the mouth.

Even if Harrell does not master the skills on this list by the time next season rolls around, he will still be a fan favorite and have a spot in every LA Clippers fan’s heart.
