Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari

RAPP: Okay, let’s talk about the other guys: What’s Wilson Chandler going to bring when he comes off of injury (hopefully in a little over a week)?

CHONG: I think he brings sort of what Mike Scott did, but with less shooting.

Chandler likes slashing to the rim more than he does putting up shots.

SNELLINGS: To reiterate what they said at The Playbook, they love his attitude. He’s tough and they like his leadership. Not sure if he’s a long-term guy, but they made sure to talk about him at the event which says a lot to me.

Seems like he’s the type of guy to help build the culture next to Pat Bev.

CHONG: Chandler also has lots of cool tattoos, so that’s always good.

RAPP: He’s currently making $12.8m on an expiring contract, and he’s 31. Garrett Temple is 32, making $8m on an expiring contract.

CULLEN: It’ll be interesting to see how gets folded into the mix. Either way, he’s not here next year.

RAPP: I mean, we really have to be thinking about all these pieces in terms of cap space now, right? The only guaranteed money for next season is Lou, Trezz, SGA, Jerome Robinson, Landry, Thornwell (not entirely) and Ty Wallace. And Gallo, obviously, though I’ve mentally already set myself for Gallo’s departure.

KIMBRELL: Yeah. If they’re not expiring, I don’t think they’re in the trade

CULLEN: Gallo couldn’t be having a better season for a summer trade.

RAPP: His trade value is through the roof. Pick up a guy who shook off injuries and has been killing it, and is on an expiring deal at 31.

LOFTIN: I think it is vital that Gallo stays healthy for the rest of the season.

RAPP: I agree with that, Milo.

KIMBRELL: Do you think he’s a positive enough asset that teams would trade for him as the piece? Or will we have to attach a pick to get somebody to absorb his contract?

CHONG: Yes. This front office was able to trade Avery Bradley as, ‘The piece.’ They can make it happen lol.

RAPP: The good news, Seth, is that we have those options, now. The dragon’s horde of picks collected in this trade deadline flurry can’t be understated.

KIMBRELL: That’s a solid point Matt. Logan, to be honest I’ve been viewing that Philly first as a future Gallinari tax since the trade, but I could be very wrong.

LOFTIN: I don’t think a team is going to seek him out. I think he will make the salary work on a trade for a big name(AD hopefully) that will have picks/young guys with it. It really is fun that the Clippers have options no matter what goes down in the next year or so. They aren’t stuck in any path at the moment.

Will We See Luc Again?

RAPP: Haggle/No Haggle: Luc Mbah a Moute is going to play basketball again this season.

CHONG: HAGGLE

LOFTIN: HAGGLE

CULLEN: Haggle. Something odd is happening there. He’s been day-to-day for so long. I keep forgetting he’s even on the roster. Is he even traveling with the team?

CHONG: Luc has been rehabbing on his own, I think.

SNELLINGS: I don’t see the point in trying to re-insert him at this point anyway, even if he is healthy.

LOFTIN: Agreed.

KIMBRELL: I’m with the group on this one.
