Ideal Outcomes

RAPP: Okay, next question: What is your ideal outcome for this season through the offseason?

SNELLINGS: We make the playoffs, sweep the Warriors, win a championship, sign KD and Kawhi. Duh.

LOFTIN: Sigh Kawhi and KD. Trade for AD. I think that is the Endgame for all the moves that have been made.

KIMBRELL: I wrote a bit about the super-optimistic ideal outcome in a recent piece. I’d love to see the Clippers’ young guys get a bunch of run and us drop out of the playoffs. I think we have the treasure trove of picks necessary to move up in the draft if our pick isn’t too low. Then make a run at KD and Kawhi.

CULLEN: Get the 7-seed, have a competitive series in the first round (likely get bumped), but let the new guys take in the experience and know what a long season feels like to get ready for extended seasons to come. And development. Wins/losses shouldn’t prioritize the future, unless they KNOW something big is coming. So I basically want us to simultaneously miss and make the playoffs. I really don’t think I’m asking too much.

RAPP: I’d agree with Brian. I think it’s imperative that the LA Clippers retain and develop their youth — and they have a lot more of it, now — while keeping culture guys like Pat Bev and Trezz. There’s also a budding question of Lou Will’s age, and sooner or later that drop-off’s going to happen.

CULLEN: Ultimately, I trust what the suits are doing. We went from ranting about not being able to get Anthony Tolliver to possibly getting a couple of superstars. We got this either way.

Sixer Bros

RAPP: Finally, the 76ers just wrecked the Lakers today. Tobias pulled 22 points in 29 minutes, and Boban pulled 10 points in 13 minutes. Are we all Sixers fans this postseason?

KIMBRELL: 100%. I need to see that trophy being dwarfed by Boban’s hands.

LOFTIN: I’m the words of the late Macho Man Randy Savage: “OOOOHHHHHH YEEEAAAAHHH”

SNELLINGS: Yep! I do love me some LeBron, but he doesn’t have a realistic shot at it, so go 76ers. That being said, I do like Giannis too, so as long as neither Boston nor Toronto comes out of the East, I’ll be happy.

KIMBRELL: True. A Philly finals trip makes it a little more likely for us to land Kawhi.
