After the LA Clippers defeated the Warriors on Monday night, there was a lot of fallout with players calling each other out on both sides.

While the LA Clippers got their second consecutive win over a top tier team on Monday, they somehow weren’t the main story of the night.

Dray and Durant

During the Clippers 121-116 victory over the Warriors, things got heated between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green. According to multiple reports, Durant and Green got into an argument after Golden State failed to get a shot off to end the fourth quarter.

Green grabbed a defensive rebound and ignored Durant who was calling for the ball. Green dribbled down the court and failed to even attempt a shot. Tempers flared and the two argued in the huddle with Green supposedly calling Durant names.

The worst part of the confrontation was when Green apparently brought up Durant’s impending free agency. This crossed the line for the Warriors who suspended Green for their game against Atlanta on Tuesday.

Durant is expected to leave the Warriors this summer and have several suitors, including the Clippers. Perhaps the location of the game is what caused Draymond to bring up free agency, but we won’t ever know for sure.

Klay and Pat

While the incident on court wasn’t directly related to LA, there was some less talked about arguing on Twitter. After the loss, media asked Klay Thompson about the Clippers defense. His response? “They’re nothing special.”

Thompson, who did score 31 but did so on 31 shots (most of which came in the fourth and overtime) aggravated Patrick Beverley with this quote. Bev clapped back on Twitter.

Don’t change Pat. The 41% shooting by Klay is 5% lower than his average this season and while the Warriors did not have Stephen Curry active, they were still held to only 116 points in an overtime game. In their 15 games, the team has averaged 120.7 points per game. (This was the team’s first overtime game of the season).

It’s hard to say if there will be any beef carried over to the next meeting which happens two days before Christmas in Los Angeles again.
