Chris Paul will not play tonight versus the Los Angeles Clippers after being suspended two games by the NBA.

After his involvement in the altercation between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA had suspended Chris Paul for two games. The first game of his suspension will come tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The altercation started when Brandon Ingram of the Lakers reacted after being called for a foul on James Harden. Ingram shoved Harden in the back, sparking both teams to react.

During the scuffle, Rajon Rondo of the Lakers spit in Paul’s face, causing the two to get physical, including throwing punches. Ingram and Rondo were also suspended.

The suspension of Paul bodes well for the Clippers, who are looking to pick up their second win after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night.

While Paul’s abscence will be noticeable, the Clippers will still have to worry about stopping MVP James Harden. With no Paul, Harden will be the focal point of the offense.

Both Patrick Beverley and Avery Bradley will have to match up against Harden. The two looked better in the win against the Thunder, but did allow Paul George score 20 points.

Harden is capable of nearly winning the game by himself, so the defense will have to focus heavily on him.

While Paul will miss tonight, his suspension being two games only means he will he able to play on Friday when the Clippers travel to Houston to face the Rockets for their second time this season.

The game tips off at 6 PM PST in Los Angeles. You can watch on Fox Sports West, NBA TV or on Fubo.TV. As always, follow along on Twitter for all your live game coverage!
