After an interview on ESPN, new rumors regarding Jimmy Butler have come out. How does this affect the Los Angeles Clippers?

Jimmy Butler just sat down with Rachel Nichols on ESPN. The All-Star guard broke his silence almost a month after demanding a trade. Butler showed up at Timberwolves practice today and mouthed off at several members of the Wolves roster and staff. What does this mean for the Los Angeles Clippers?

Let’s break it all down.

The Interview

In the interview with Nichols, Butler confirmed the emotional events of practice today. He chalked it up to not having played basketball in a while and everything just bubbling to the surface.

Butler told Nichols that the situation is not fixed. He also confirmed that he still does not see a fit in Minnesota. He seemed apologetic in the way he handled himself in practice today, but also made sure to qualify that it was just his emotions getting the best of him and is part of who he is.

Butler went on to say that what bothers him most about the Wolves young players is that they don’t work hard. He cited Karl-Anthony Towns as the most talented player on the team and Andrew Wiggins as the player with the most God given talent, but noted that neither of them worked nearly as hard as he does.

Woj gives new details

After the interview, Adrian Wojnarowski acknowledged that the Miami Heat still remain interested in acquiring Butler. With the two teams having already come close to almost completing a deal over the weekend, it seems all but certain that the Los Angeles Clippers have been eliminated from acquiring Butler for now.

It still wouldn’t be too late for them to put together a package, but with the way the Wolves front office has handled coupled with the Miami deal almost being done, the Clips will be hard pressed to actually get something done.

After the first part of the interview aired, news broke that Butler has demanded to be moved by no later than Friday.
