Jimmy Butler reportedly went to Minnesota Timberwolves practice today and caused a scene. Do the Los Angeles Clippers still have a shot at him?

What a day in the NBA. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Jimmy Butler showed up for the Minnesota Timberwolves practice today. What ensued was nothing short of eventful.

According to Woj, Butler took the Wolves’ bench guys and not only challenged, but beat the starting unit. He then gave us a quote that will assuredly live in infamy in NBA circles.

"“You f—ing need me, Scott. You can’t win without me.”"

Woj, nor anyone else from the sounds of it, know whether Jimmy showing back up to practice means good things for the Wolves or that he was there to just prove a point. We should all find out shortly though as Butler will  do a sit down interview on ESPN later this evening.

This will be must see TV for all, but especially for teams like the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat who still may show interest in Butler.

Los Angeles Clippers Roster

As we have covered extensively, the Los Angeles Clippers have been heavily involved with the Butler saga. However, with roster cuts looming, the team will likely have to eat some cap.

With Miami seemingly in the lead to land Butler (They almost had a deal done over the weekend before it fell apart), the Clippers will have to look elsewhere to dump players. At one point it was rumored that the Phoenix Suns had interest in Patrick Beverley, but the Clippers do not seem inclined to give up one of their most vocal leaders.

Still, the team could look to Phoenix, who just fired their General Manager, as a possible spot to unload players. The Suns are still in search of point guards and both Jawun Evans and Milos Teodosic seem to be likely candidates for the Clippers to move.

Next. Predicting final roster moves. dark

The Clippers have one final preseason game on Thursday night against Maccabi Haifa and then will have to make their final roster decisions.
