Los Angeles Clippers Depth Chart Breakdown: Shooting Guard

The Los Angeles Clippers enter this season with one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Let’s continue to break it down by looking at the shooting guards.

The Los Angeles Clippers never had quite enough depth during the Lob City era. They were forced to rely mainly on minimum contract players to fill out their roster every season.

However, their circumstances have changed drastically. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan have all departed leaving the Clippers without a true superstar, but also leaving them with the most depth they have ever had.

In fact, the Clippers have too much depth. (Is that even possible?) They have at least 17 players who are capable of helping them win basketball games this season. Eventually, someone will get cut in order to trim the roster down.

During the next couple of weeks, I will be analyzing each position group on the roster. Who is the starter? Is it a competition? Who is the backup? Who is on the bubble? I am going to go break it all down for you and let you know who has a chance to still be on the roster come the first game of the season.

I already analyzed the team’s point guard rotation. So, I am now moving on to arguably their most crowded position, shooting guard. The Clippers have five players on their roster listed as a shooting guard. That does not include point guards Milos Teodosic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who could see minutes off the ball alongside Patrick Beverley. This position has an intriguing mix of veterans and young prospects. Let’s get started.
