The Phoenix Suns are still interested in the Los Angeles Clippers’ Patrick Beverley, but the two sides can’t agree on the asking price.

According to Shams Charania of Stadium, the Phoenix Suns are still in pursuit of a starting caliber point guard with the Los Angeles Clippers’ Patrick Beverley being the top target.

Even though he is their top target, Charania notes that the Suns will not change their offering price of second round picks while the Clippers want a first rounder. With Beverley currently on the last year of his non-guaranteed contract, the Clippers may be asking a bit much.

You can check out Charania discussing the potential deal below.

Beverley to the Suns has been rumored for several weeks, but there has been no real traction. Phoenix communicated with several teams in search of a starting caliber point guard to pair alongside Devin Booker and recent number one overall draft pick Deandre Ayton.

The Clippers, while we doubt they make the move, could look at this deal more seriously as they get closer to training camp. The team is currently over the maximum number of players and with the recent signing of Tyrone Wallace have an abundance of guards.

Beverley came in last season to be the Clippers starting point guard after the departure of Chris Paul. Although he found initial success, his season was cut short after injuring his knee. He has since been cleared to return to all basketball activities.

In his eleven games with the team, Beverley averaged 12.2 points, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Beverly could be used to help lure stars like Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard with his tenacity and willingness to do dirty work and play without the ball in his hand.
