Los Angeles Clippers May have leaked their new City Edition uniform
With Clippers announcer Ralph Lawler announcing his retirement effective at the conclusion of the 2018-19 NBA campaign, the team announced they would honor Lawler on this year’s jersey.
After 40 seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, longtime broadcaster Ralph Lawler has decided to hang it up after this upcoming season.
The Clippers shortly announced there after that Ralph’s signature and “VOICE OF THE CLIPPERS” would be added onto their jerseys for this season.
This is such a class act by the organization to honor the longtime broadcaster. If you take a closer look though, you can see a navy blue colorway along with red stripes and white edges.
The new colorway might hint at this being the new City Edition jersey for this upcoming season. If you recall last year, the Clippers City Edition was baby blue to represent their San Diego/Buffalo days.
We may have already seen a glimpse of what the new City Jersey looks like in Summer League this past season. Nike and the NBA introduced new Summer League jerseys for all 32 ball clubs and the Clippers jerseys were very well done.
The Summer League jersey contained the same red stripes and white edges as the new uniform we saw up top. The only difference would be the different shades of blue as the new jersey is a tad bit darker.
At this point, one can only assume, but what we do know is that the name of this jersey should be after the forever “Voice of the Clippers” in Ralph Lawler.
We know the news of Ralph leaving after this season will be hard on Clippers’ fans, so let’s focus on the positive! Give us your thoughts on the possible new jersey joining the line-up this season.
