With NBA 2k19 less than a month out, the Los Angeles Clippers deserve to have a Classic Team added to the game.

NBA 2k19 is set to release in just under a month on September 11. While trailers for different game modes have dropped, there has been no news of additional Classic Teams being added to the game. Now is the time for the Los Angeles Clippers to have a team added.

For those of you who don’t play 2k or have not messed with the Classic Teams, here’s the skinny. The folks over at 2k pick teams from the past that have had an impact on the league one way or another.

Notable examples include the 73-9 Warriors, the LeBron James “Heatles”, a couple of the Kobe and Shaq Lakers teams, the Bad Boy Pistons, several Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls teams and many, many more. The Clips, while not having many options, still deserve a team.

Lob City

With DeAndre Jordan and Austin Rivers departing this summer, the last members of the Lob City era are gone. There’s not a better time than now to immortalize this team in NBA 2k.

The developers only pick a team from one specific year, so why not the 2014-15 Clippers team that stunned the San Antonio Spurs in one of the best first-round series of recent memory?

This roster had the big three of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. The team also featured J.J. Redick, Matt Barnes, Jamal Crawford, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Nate Robinson, Austin Rivers and Spencer Hawes.

This was definitely the best team of the Lob City era and despite a complete breakdown in the following series against Houston, the team still lives on due to defeating the Spurs.

Make It Happen

How likely is this to happen? We aren’t sure. 2k usually does pretty well about adding teams each year and I would expect this version to be no exception. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got the 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers in the game, but any other additions are up in the air.

Let’s come together as Clippers’ fans and push for the team to be featured in NBA 2k19. Tweet to both the official account and Ronnie 2k, the games community manager. Use #LobCityIn2k19 and we can make it happen.

Immortalize Lob City.
