Lou Williams of the Los Angeles Clippers told TMZ that the Clippers are the better team than the Lakers and you know what? He’s right.

Lou Williams was approached by TMZ cameras yesterday. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year told them that until the Lakers prove it, the Clippers are still the best team in Los Angeles.

You can check out the full video below.

If you can’t watch the video, here’s the full quote:

"“I mean, the Lakers ain’t beat us since I’ve been on the Clippers.“So, record-wise, yeah, we are the better team in L.A. until they prove it.”"

Lou is right

He’s totally right. The Lakers may have added arguably the best player of all time to their team, but that doesn’t mean a thing until the games are actually played. The Clippers have dominated the Lakers over the past few seasons and despite the addition of LeBron James, games this year could and likely will still be close.

Outside of James, the Lakers have added a variety of odd fitting pieces. No one is sure that the Lakers will even make the playoffs this season as they, along with many other teams, seem more focused on the summer of 2019 and adding more star players.

Meanwhile, the Clippers have stayed rather complacent, adding only Marcin Gortat and Mike Scott and lost DeAndre Jordan. The team, despite not having a true star, is very deep. They have talent across the board and will likely give any team in the league a challenge.

Lou is right. The Clippers have a proven squad that is mainly intact from last season. The Lakers have yet to prove how good they will be.

Until a game is played this season, the Clippers are still the reigning best team in Los Angeles.
