Sam Dekker shot poorly from deep this season for the Los Angeles Clippers, but is looking to fix that heading into the 2018-19 season.

Sam Dekker is in the gym working on his three-pointer this summer. The Los Angeles Clippers forward is in the gym and hoping to improve his shot for the upcoming season after a rough year.

This past season, Dekker shot an abysmal 16.7% from deep. This was a far cry from the 32.1% he shot with Houston during the 2016-17 season.

On Wednesday, he posted a video of himself working with Pure Sweat and we have to say, that jumper looks a lot better. Check it out:

With the way the NBA is trending, Dekker has the potential to flourish. His 6’9″, 230lb frame and athleticism allows him to play multiple positions.

This is the time for Dekker to capitalize. The team has no true power forward, especially if Montrezl Harrell isn’t re-signed. Dekker, along with the other forwards on the team, could see minutes at the backup four spot. If he can come off the bench to provide shooting, expect an increased role.

Dekker was able to realize fairly early on this year that his shot was not falling and begin to play to his strengths, mainly his athleticism, hustle and finishing ability. Getting his shot back on track will only make him more dangerous. The team picked up the last year of his contract early in the season, so he will need to prove that it was the right decision.

His shooting practice will have to take a little time off, however. Sam is set to marry Olivia Harlan in early July. The two are asking for charity donations to CCFF in their honor.
