The Los Angeles Clippers and Head Coach Doc Rivers are close to a multi-year contract extension as the team looks to retool it’s roster and staff this summer.
Bill Plaschke of the LA Times has reported that Los Angeles Clippers Owner Steve Ballmer and Head Coach Doc Rivers have recently sat down and discussed a contract extension. This is well deserved for Rivers as he did a marvelous job this season amidst the injuries that plagued the team.
Doc has posted a (259-151) winning record good for an above-500 win percentage at (.583). It is also nice to see the Clippers rewarding one of there own as Doc arguably did his best coaching job this season.

This summer is vital for the team, as it is General Manager Michael Winger’s and Consultant Jerry West’s first official off-season to build this team. The first thing off their list is giving Doc an extension.
We’ve seen crazier things in the NBA over the last couple of seasons but maybe we can land one of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, or LeBron James. Be sure to check out the latest content from our writers as we will be extensively bringing you guys off-season coverage
We are also just 9 days away from the NBA Draft Lottery as the Clippers have 2 Lottery Picks (Their Own Pick and DET’s Pick from the Blake Griffin trade). It will be very interesting to see the team that Doc will be coaching next season.
Congrats Coach Rivers on your extension, now let’s build to one day hoist “LARRY!” as Steve Ballmer said best.
