Becky Hammon

Becky Hammon is my top choice if I’m the Clippers. Let’s run through why.

For starters, Becky has worked under Gregg Popovich, one of the best coaches of all-time. That’s huge. The ability to start your coaching career while learning from one of the best is immeasurable. Hammon has spent four years under Pop and has undoubtedly gained a ton of experience. She even coached the San Antonio Spurs’ team to the Las Vegas Summer League championship this past summer.

Hammon is already receiving interest from college teams for their vacancies. She also was interviewed by the Milwaukee Bucks for their General Manager position. Teams are all in on Hammon.

The Clippers should be even more in on her, especially considering their movement towards empowering woman. Their #StrongWithHer campaign this season, alongside jersey sponsor Bumble, shows the direction the organization is headed.

The team hired Gillian Zucker a few seasons back as the President of Business Operations and she has been amazing for the organization. (Seriously, check out this profile on her day-to-day from ESPN)

Bringing Hammon in would not only be a huge step for the team, but for all major sports in general.

Just remember, it’s not simply a PR move. Hammon knows her stuff. She’s a WNBA legend. She’s a highly sought after coach. She may just check all the boxes for the Clippers organization.

This list doesn’t encompass all the possibilities, so check back later for more options. Who do you want to hire if Doc Rivers does end up leaving the team? Let us know on Twitter and check back here all offseason for news and speculation!
