Los Angeles Clippers Mid-Season Grades: Boban Marjanovic
By Brian Cullen
Offense Grade: A
Boban really showed his offensive prowess in Denver. He logged 15 minutes off the bench and put up 18 points. He also when 8 of 9 at the charity stripe. Knocking down 88% at the line for a guy his sized is beyond impressive. He was so effective in his game play that he not only helped the team come back from down 19 points but he allowed DeAndre Jordan to sit the fourth quarter; a huge advantage on the first night of a back to back.

After digging into his numbers you’ll find this isn’t the first performance like this. In January during one of his last games in Detroit against OKC Boban logged 14 points in 14 minutes, going 4 for 4 from the line. Those are just two examples but his Per 36 tells us a lot of what he’s capable of doing.
Per 36 minutes on the Clippers Boban Marjanovic is averaging 40 points on 62% shooting. Now, that number comes off a small sample size, but that is incredible. It feels a little more real when you see that his career PER is 27.6. Basketball Reference defines PER (player efficiency rating) as “a measure of per-minute production standardized such that the league average is 15”. To put that in perspective Chris Paul has a career PER of 25.7.
