Lou William’s importance in the offense at it’s present appearance cannot be understated. It should be noted that Lou is more than someone that just spots up and shoots. He can get others involved. He is currently averaging a career high 5.3 assists, when he has never averaged over five in his career. Williams will get his numbers but what is different is that he is passing the ball around to open players.
I do see it being a thing that he has to do more when others were out. When he has played with out teams, his role was clearly defined and maybe the Clippers role would be different if Clippers had health on their side. Williams brings it every night and it shows with him averaging 23.4 points coming off the bench. His eFG% ties a career high at 52.% and 37.8% from deep.
I don’t think most Clipper fans really think of Lou as a Sixth Man at this point as he is a team leader. Clipper fans can thank his offense but they should also be thanking his durability.
Williams is great offensive threat that will likely finish off the year strong and finish off in career with highs in points, assists, and possibly steals.
