With the All-Star break coming this week, the Los Angeles Clippers need to start focus on playoff seeding.
Injuries galore. A star player traded. The amazing play of Lou Williams. So many things have happened this season for the Los Angeles Clippers and yet with the All-Star break approaching, they still find themselves in the midst of the playoff race.

In case you haven’t been watching, the Clippers currently stand 2 games over .500 with a record of 28-26. The 26 games in the loss column tie them with three other teams: The Portland Trailblazers, the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Pelicans. The Utah Jazz also lurk right behind with 28 losses.
Despite being tied in the loss column with the 6th place Trailblazers, the Clippers still sit at the 9 seed due to the number of games in the win column.
With the schedule winding down, they will need to focus on racking up as many wins as possible, especially against weaker teams. Any falter or off night could be the difference between finishing anywhere from 6th place to not making the playoffs at all.
The Clippers face several playoff teams over the next few weeks, including the Boston Celtics on Wednesday and the Golden State Warriors on February 22nd after returning from All-Star break. It will take a lot of effort and focus for the team to slide into the playoffs. Ideally, they will want to move up to the 6th or (the more likely) 7th seed in order to avoid a first round match-up against the Warriors.
