LA Clippers’ Danilo Gallinari’s return is imminent

The LA Clippers are looking an an imminent return for Danilo Gallinari.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari draws closer to a return as the Clippers finish up their road trip against the New Orleans Pelicans.
This is good news as Gallo has been listed as out for weeks. Now, his status has changed. Gallinari, coming off a glute injury, is listed as questionable against the Pelicans .
According to Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints.com, Gallinari has stated that he does not think he would be cleared for Sunday’s game, but hopes to return to action Tuesday against The Portland Trail Blazers.
Danilo Gallinari has only played in 11 games this season, averaging 13.4 points per game. In this small sample size, Gallinari has shot career lows at 34% from the field and 25% from three.
This Clippers are still without guard Austin Rivers. Rivers’s return timetable has been stated as within two weeks by coach Doc Rivers. Backup point guard Jawun Evans remains out with an injured abdomen, so the Clippers need all the help available at the point guard position.

For years the Clippers have tried to obtain a versatile scoring wing. The biggest pickup for the Clippers this year seemed to Danilo Gallinari who was obtained through a three team trade between the Clippers, Hawks and Nuggets. Gallinari a versatile player at 6’10 is capable of playing both forward positions. The Clippers hope that he provides the shot creating threat they have lacked from the forward spot through recent years.
What The Future Might Hold
Gallinari averaged 18.2 points a game for the Denver Nuggets in the 2016-2017 season. He has played 11 seasons in the NBA and can add a multifaceted scoring threat to the Clippers roster. Gallinari puts pressure on opposing teams by being able to get to the free throw line.In addition Gallinari shoots a career 86% from the line Gallinari can also shoot from the perimeter once he finds his comfort zone on the roster.
The Clippers are currently at 24-24 and hold the 9th seed in the western conference and look to continue making their claim for a playoff berth. They however remain a team while decimated by injuries, but which continues to find new players stepping up and embracing the team motto for the year- ‘Next Man Up’.
