With trade rumors surrounding the LA Clippers and the Cleveland Cavaliers swirling, we take a look at a simple solution.

Tomer Azarly, who covers the LA Clippers for Clutch Points, brought up a fine idea with the Cleveland Cavaliers reported interest in LA Clipper Lou Williams. That is aside from the interest the Clipper center DeAndre Jordan.

Marc Stein tweeted the Cleveland Cavaliers reported interest in LA Clipper Lou Williams. While that makes two Clippers the Cavaliers are interested in, Azarly quote tweets Stein, stating if LeBron James wants the Clippers pair so much why not join them in free agency. The Clippers are currently trending toward the playoffs and at this point playing great basketball.

The Clippers still have questions to answer with Lou Williams and DeAndre Jordan. What causes a problem is that the Clippers are in the playoff hunt and have quality wins over the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Williams being a huge factor in those wins might I add. Another problem is that both players can get new deals once free agency hits. The front office is on the clock a few months earlier than maybe they thought.

Recent rumors include Williams and Jordan to possibly help possible contenders.  Both players could help a team trying to get over the hump but the Clippers are trying to see if they can do the same thing. Without having a full team and having 21 different starting line ups, doesn’t serve executives well. The team is on a run recently and its on the powers that be to decide to continue on their reload and throw the dice in the offseason. Or become sellers at the deadline and forego their reload and enter a rebuild.

Sign with the Clippers, LeBron

This is where it gets interesting with Tomer’s tweet, Because LeBron can leave at the end of this season and join a team of his choice.

While this is in good fun and it clearly insinuates LeBron is in a position to make roster changes, but why not? LeBron is the “missing piece” teams think of when they say we just need one more player.

It is not out of the question LeBron sign with the Clippers, likely? maybe not. It probably doesn’t help that LeBron’s banana boat brethren Chris Paul appears to have some type of feelings toward the Clippers after the Rockets recent loss to his former team.

This is a different team and they have a fight not seen in many years. They are grinders and instead of losing out of 50/50 balls like in previous years, they are hustling, everyone from Blake Griffin to Doc Rivers.

If the Clippers do decide to hold at the end of the deadline, it will be a strong indication the team believes they can compete with what they have now. Both players have stated they want to remain for the Clippers, but money is going to be important especially with the Clippers current contracts.

DeAndre Jordan and Williams likely will want a raise and if they want to lure LeBron James they will need to take some type of discount. LeBron can come join a team that has team in mind especially after Blake Griffin’s recent assessment of the team comparing to previous years. This is a team he would want to join because they are hungry and the organization is one of the hungriest to bring a Championship to their fanbase.

Leave it like this, it could happen.
