For the second time this season, Lou Williams has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week.

The campaign just got stronger for Lou Williams to be an NBA All-Star. In a season that just keeps getting better for the 12-year veteran, Williams was awarded Western Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The award counts for games played from Jan. 8 through Jan. 14. During that stretch, the LA Clippers won all four games. This past week, Williams averaged 35 points game, while shooting nearly 46 percent from deep, and 97 percent from the foul line. He averaged nearly 37 minutes a game, getting the starts due to injuries.

In the four games, he scored a total of 140 points, which was the most in the NBA. He also scored 30+ points in three of the four games.

His first great performance came against the Hawks, in which he dropped 34 points.

In the Clippers’ one point victory, Williams played 41 minutes. He knocked down four 3’s, and contributed four assists and three rebounds.

Lou Will Drops FIFTY

His next game, and what ultimately won him the award, was when he dropped 50 on the Warriors. Yup, you read that correctly. 50 points.

A career-high for Lou Will, and arguably the greatest game of his career. The 31 year-old dropped 50 points in a Clipper victory over the Golden State Warriors. He was 16-27 on the evening, and 8-16 from deep. Lou Will scored 27 points in the third quarter, which was a Clippers record for most points scored in a single quarter. He also added seven assists.

In a “quiet” follow-up performance, Williams dropped 30 on the Kings. He knocked down five 3’s, and also added six assists and two steals.

In his final game of the week, Lou Will had his lowest scoring game. The 6th Man favorite “only” scored 26. I really hope he’s feeling alright.

Jokes aside, he knocked down four 3’s, and more impressively, added four steals.

It’s truly been an incredible season for Lou Williams. He’s now averaging over 23 points per game, while shooting a career-high from beyond the arc. With 122 three-pointers through 41 games, Williams is on pace to break J.J. Redick’s single season three-pointer record of 201.
