The LA Clippers pulled off a tough team win against the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

The LA Clippers pulled off a tough team win against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night by a score of 96-91. This was not a pretty game by any means, but a win is a win. It was Star Wars Night at Staples Center and the Clips definitely forced their way to victory.

The Return of the Jedi

The biggest highlight of the night was the return of Milos Teodosic, who had only played in the team’s first two games of the year. Despite being labeled as possibly the passer in the NBA, Milos did not record an assist in the game. However, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t an impact. He had several hockey assists, scored 12 points and managed to pull down seven rebounds. He had several looks that didn’t fall, but that was likely due to not having his legs under him. Milos being back is a great sign for this team.

The Bench Strikes Back

The bench came to play last night. Specifically, Montrezl Harrell came to play. He came off the bench with a TON of energy and scored 17 points, grabbed four rebounds and had two blocks, albeit one of which he slightly injured himself on. However, that didn’t stop him as he continued to play hard. Sam Dekker also managed to score a season high 12 points off the bench and made several good cuts to the basket. With his three pointer not falling, he finally found a way to produce.

With the return of Milos, Lou Williams moved back to his bench role, but still was able to drop 17 points of his own and dish out a team high five assists. Lou might be the best player on the roster as of right now.

A New Hope

With this win and Saturday’s late game heroics against the Washington Wizards, the LA Clippers have to feel pretty good about themselves. Danilo Gallinari did have another injury setback, but the return of Milos to the lineup seemed to reinvigorate the team. With a match-up against Orlando next, followed by a rematch against the Wizards in D.C., this team could slowly build up a little win streak. If Gallinari can come back soon and Blake Griffin (who put up shots prior to the game) heals quicker than expected, the team still could make a playoff push.
