Lou Williams is quickly proving to be a real asset to the LA Clippers offense by coming of the bench during the 2017-2018 NBA preseason.
With the preseason finally coming to a close on Friday the 13th, it seems a good time to assess the players who will be coming off of the bench to either keep us in the game, or be a detriment to our Clippers’ offense. The former is to be said for Lou Williams, the veteran sharpshooter.
Of the five preseason games, Lou participated in four in which he totaled 51 points, 16 assists, and 4 rebounds. It’s safe to say that Sweet Lou is having a decent time on the court alongside his fellow Clippers. I myself am having a great time watching him throw lobs to Jordan.
Lou seems as if he’s already found his place with the Clippers. Of course this is only speculation, but I mean, come on. After four games, a paintball day, and kayaking in Hawaii; it’s safe to say that this new Clippers team is forming a bond that has been showing on and off the court.

While I’m having fun watching Lou, I am a little worried. He’s primarily a three-point shooter and in the preseason loss against the Sacramento Kings he shot 2-7 from deep. I’m also not sure that he’ll be taking many of those shots on this Clippers team especially with more reliable shooters on the floor like Patrick Beverley or Wesley Johnson. Don’t get me wrong though, I’d love to see Lou Will step up and take more chances. But, if it results in more turnovers than points, then those shots definitely need to be taken by the aforementioned shooters.
I think we’re in store for an exciting season for both the Clippers and Lou Williams and I can’t wait to see how it all works out! I only hope that we can perform this season with the new additions to this team and to be honest with you, I’m pretty optimistic. Then again, I’m a Clippers fan so I don’t want to get my hopes up too high.
