With the release of NBA 2k18 coming, the guys over at 2k have revealed All-Time teams, including one for the LA Clippers.
Well, this team is kind of weird. All-Time teams that are being released by 2k are supposed to represent the best players in the history of each franchise. However, with players such as Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller not allowing NBA 2k18 to use their images, just how accurate are these teams?
Our opinion? They aren’t too bad. Although there are some notable exclusions, which we’ll get into later for the Clippers, most teams are represented pretty well.
If you wanna check out all the teams, just click here. As for us, here is who the folks over at 2k thought should make the LA Clippers’ All-Time Team and their overall ratings at their peak with the franchise.
"Los Angeles Clippers Starters: Chris Paul (92), Corey Maggette (86), Bob McAdoo (94), Blake Griffin (90), DeAndre Jordan (87)Reserves: World B. Free (88), Ron Harper (87), Danny Manning (86), Bill Walton (84), Eric Gordon (84), J.J. Redick (83), Eric Bledsoe (82), Quentin Richardson (82), Jamal Crawford (82), Darius Miles (80)"
So, not too bad, but not great. There are several players whose inclusion had us scratching our head, as well as the ones excluded bummed us out. The notable players who aren’t part of the team include:
- Elton Brand
- Randy Smith
- Lamar Odom
- Chris Kaman
We have to assume that 2k was not able to get the rights to these players, as they would most likely be part of the team.
RELATED STORY: LA Clippers’ 2k18 Ratings So Far
As for guys who don’t really fit in the group, there are a few. Sure, Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick have been great for the team the past few years and Eric Bledsoe and Eric Gordon were great in their short time with us, but would you really make the argument that they are all-time Clippers’ greats? Obviously due to their inclusion there is an argument to be made.
