Jamal Crawford will be traded to the Atlanta Hawks, as part of a three team trade involving that brings over small forward Danilo Gallinari to the LA Clippers.
Jamal Crawford will be traded to the Atlanta Hawks to bring in small forward Danilo Gallinari. It brings a heavy heart to type this out and I am truly thankful for all the memories and positive things Jamal helped bring to the LA Clippers. Crawford ends his five-year stint with the Clippers and will head back to the Atlanta Hawks with the possibility of a buy out.
Crawford came to the Clippers in the summer of 2012, after a mediocre year with the Portland Trailblazers. He signed a 4 year, $20 million dollar deal to run the second unit and compete for a championship.
The Clippers, over the years, missed on some opportunitie, and had some bad breaks with injuries, but the only constant was their perennial sixth man Jamal Crawford, coming off the bench and playing with the reserves or playing with the starters in crunch time.
He made sacrifices for the team when he could start on other teams. Crawford never came out publicly and asked to be traded. Business is business, but he is a high character person and I doubt you will be able to find a nicer player. Crawford always had time for fans.

Seeing Jamal leave is without a doubt one of the toughest things to write about as a fan of his and the good person he is in this world. Jamal Crawford is the only three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner. He won two of those three awards with the Clippers.
Crawford in flux
Crawford, 37, is still lethal with the ball in his hand and you have to account for him when the shot clock is running down. He is able to still put people on skates at a seconds notice. Crawford plays with a hop in his step and still has a bit left in the tank. Although he has his shortcomings on defense, when he’s on fire, that doesn’t matter.
The fans will understand the outcome, but it still does not change the fact Crawford will not be running through the tunnels next season.
Jamal knows more than anyone the business side of this game and it might come as a shock, but I would like to think this might give him a chance to get his first ring that can really cap off an amazing career.
Thank You Jamal
Jamal Crawford might have his deficiencies but not everyone can score a ball and not everyone has one of the best handles in the game. To see the joy that Jamal plays with and the freedom he plays with is something I might never see again but I will continue to follow and root for @JCrossover, he is someone you want to see succeed in this league and moving toward his 18th season.
Thank you Jamal from all at the @Clipperholics and I believe it is okay to speak for Clipper Nation when we all say thank you for everything you have done for the organization and the amazing things you continue to for the community. We can’t wait to see the amazing things you do next.
