Adrian Wojnarowski has said that the New York Knicks are willing to trade Kristaps Porzingis. The LA Clippers should explore getting him in a sign and trade with Blake Griffin.

Kristaps Porzingis was drafted by the Knicks in 2015 as the fourth overall pick and is one of the most highly rated players in the league. But according to the Woj, NY Knicks president Phil Jackson is “intrigued with testing the trade market for Porzingis.” And the LA Clippers could intrigue him further by offering up Blake Griffin as part of a potential trade.

Blake listed New York as one of his favorite NBA cities recently and the Clippers can sign and trade him for Porzingis in the off-season. While Blake is unstoppable on his day, he is too injury prone. Trading him for the Latvian could prove to be a shrewd decision by the Clippers.

Porzingis set the alarm bells ringing in May when he tweeted about the LA Clippers. The tweet was later deleted and the Knicks’ star claimed that he had been hacked.

Porzingis was one of the few bright sparks in yet another disappointing season for the Knicks where they finished 12th in the Eastern Conference. Porzingis had an average of 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The Latvian has massive potential and the Knicks could be set for a barrage of picks from teams across the NBA to choose from.

Doc Rivers admitted last year that he is a big fan of the Knicks’ power forward and not many Clippers fans will disagree with him. The Clippers have also been linked with his teammate and want-away star Carmelo Anthony. And they could pursue a trade for the Knicks duo by offering them Blake Griffin and JJ Redick. Whether the trade happens remains to be seen, but the next few weeks will be an interesting time for the Clippers.
