The LA Clippers have announced that they will play two preseason games in Hawaii against the Toronto Raptors. The games will both be played in the city of Honolulu on Oct. 1 and Oct. 3. The team will also participate in some local events, including “a pregame fan fest at the Hawaii Convention Center as part of the Clippers Hawaii Classic event.”

This trip out to Hawaii won’t be the first time the team has had preseason games in different locations. In the past few seasons, the team has played in Canada, Las Vegas and China. Going to Hawaii definitely seems to be the most desirable location for both players and media. (Where do I sign up for my media pass for these games?)
The Toronto Raptors have played the Clippers several times through the last couple of preseasons. As a perennial playoff contender, they are a good measuring stick to start the season. With this announcement, both teams will be traveling to Hawaii for the first time in team history.
Playing in Hawaii should help the Clips gain some more notoriety, despite the fact that all Clippers and Lakers games are broadcast in the island state. Surely owner Steve Ballmer pushed for this as he is trying to grow the Clipper name.
Now, we just wait until preseason starts. October cannot get here soon enough. Until then, keep checking back here at Clipperholics.com, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook for all your rumors, speculation, news and updates!
