Blake Griffin has turned it up as of late

Blake Griffin has been on a roll the last couple of weeks and he is beginning to take the form we expected him to take at the beginning of the season.

Griffin is shooting 39% from deep on 33/84 in the last 27 games. Blake has never averaged more than .06 attempts from deep in his career. In those 27 games? 3.11 attempts.  He is powering through defenses and it does not look like he will be slowing anytime down soon. That’s good, because if the Clippers expect to do anything in the playoffs they will need their franchise player to play at an elite level. The Clippers will go as their power/point forward goes.

Doc Rivers even has to get on Blake to shoot the long ball as reported by Rowan Kavner

"“That’s the encouraging thing,” Rivers said. “Even the fact that he looked to shoot 3s today – he hadn’t done that since he’s been back. He’s comfortable. I got on him on one for not taking one that I thought he should have."

LA needs Blake to consistently hit a couple in each game against the Jazz. It not only creates spacing, but it will finally give them the spacing to do some serious damage without a log jam in the paint.

Although Chris Paul can take a team to the second round of the playoffs, it’s his fellow superstar who needs to now become the best player on the floor at times.

Blake has been so much more confident and quicker when making decisions. With his 3 ball working, it has made the spacing so much better. The ball moves around better and Blake is an all around offensive threat from deep, up close, and mid-range.

We need this from Blake. We’ve been teased with the whole package this year, but it’s time to see the final product.
