Mo Buckets vs. Utah this season

Now, let’s get to the Jazz, shall we? After all, that is who Mo Buckets will be going up against. In four games against the Utah Jazz, Speights averaged six points and five rebounds. Shooting just over 26% from deep, he couldn’t find his stroke against Utah this season.

In the first game versus Utah, Speights scored four points on 1-8 shooting. Naturally, it was his second game of the season. After coming off a 15 point performance in Portland, the Jazz definitely held him in check.

RELATED STORY: Could Mo Speights be the Clippers’ missing piece?

He contributed seven points in the next game, however he grabbed seven rebounds, and had a major defensive impact in his 15 minutes of play. Through his first two games, Speights was 2-10 (20%) on three-point attempts.

Speights’ next game versus the Jazz was definitely his worst performance, as he put up only three points in 11 minutes. With three personal fouls and a turnover, Speights was not effective whatsoever, as the Clippers dropped a key game in Utah.

I guess he saved his best game for last, as Mo Buckets had a coming out party in his final game versus the Jazz. In a 108-95 victory, Speights had 11 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.

The Jazz are one of the better teams and defending the three. They are third in the NBA at three-pointers allowed per game (8.2), which has been evident in their four match-ups with the Clippers. It has also been evident for Mo, as he never made more than one three in a game versus the Jazz.
