As the playoffs get closer and the seeding becoming more clear, do the LA Clippers have what it takes to defeat the Golden State Warriors should they meet?

I guess I should start off by saying that I’m a YUGE Clippers’ fan. I’ll openly acknowledge that I can be biased in regards to the Clippers, but I do not believe that to be the case with this. I truly believe that the Clippers can hang with any of the elite teams in the NBA, and I would argue that I would believe that to be the case even if I wasn’t a fan.

It is all but guaranteed that the Clippers will end up with either the 4th or 5th seed. Personally, I think that they will manage to take the 4th seed away from the Jazz, but I wont get into that. Being that they will end up in 4/5 seed, a match-up with the Warriors is a sure thing.

I completely understand the mindset of wanting to avoid the Warriors as long as possible; they are the team to beat. But, some people even suggested that LA should purposely fall to the 6th seed so that if we did meet the Warriors, it would be in the Conference Finals.

I don’t agree with that at all.

Falling to the sixth seed would mean we would have to go through the Rockets in the first round, which would be a grueling series. Then, if we beat the Rockets, we would have to turn around and play against the San Antonio Spurs in another grueling series. If LA managed to get through that gauntlet, would they really be at their best to try and compete with Golden State?

That is why all along I wanted to face Golden State as soon as possible, so there is no chance of injury for LA and we would be a fresh as possible.

Now, I wouldn’t just say that we want Golden State if I didn’t think that we could hang. Let’s look at why I think the LA Clippers can not only hang with, but beat the Warriors.
