Chris Paul and Steve Nash were special guests on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

It seems like all of the Clippers’ stars are making their rounds on James Corden’s CBS talkshow this year. First Blake Griffin, then J.J. Redick, and now Chris Paul. Monday night, CP3 and future hall of famer Steve Nash joined the Late Late Show, where CP3 talked his shoe habits and being a Steve Nash fan. CP3 also recalled his first time playing against Nash and the two played a game of “Human Basketball Hoop”.

One and done

So it turns out that CP3 wears a brand new pair of shoes every single game. He made it clear why he does so, and it has something to do with the person on the logo of his shoes.

“I learned that from MJ, from Michael Jordan. He used to wear a new pair of shoes every single game.”

While it seems like he would be wasting thousands of shoes, Chris says that he usually will give his game-worn shoes to a young fan or have them auctioned off for charity. But when it comes to his personal, every day shoes, he can be somewhat of a hoarder. He may or may not have “a few” storage units full of memorabilia and thousands of shoes.

CP3 remembers his first game against Steve Nash

Chris’ first game he played against Nash is something he will always remember. “I couldn’t sleep the night before the game,” he said. All those feelings of anxiety were for one reason: “[Nash] was, you know, how you measure yourself, and I just remember.”

This goes to show that even the best NBA players get starstruck. They’ve all had their “welcome to the NBA moment” playing against their favorite players. Nash on the other hand, didn’t remember the game at all.

“I don’t necessarily remember that game but I obviously remember playing against Chris, and he’s as good as any point guard I’ve ever played against.”

Human Basketball Hoop

CP3 and Nash played a friendly game of “Human Basketball Hoop”, where the two had a shoot out for a set amount of time trying to hit as many shots as possible. The “human” aspect of the game is James Corden suspended in the air with the basketball hoop attached to him.

Spoiler alert: Chris lost.
