Blake Griffin and Chris Paul

Blake Show

The two superstars combined to score 49 points on 16 of 29 shooting. Blake Griffin also ended up going 9 for 10 from the free throw line.

Blake played timid in the first half, but just like the rest of the team, the switch flipped in the second. He started to take advantage of the smaller Celtics’ players trying to guard him. In classic Blake fashion, he even took one down the court in “bully ball” fashion for the layup and the foul.

CP3

Meanwhile, his counterpart, Chris Paul, hit a few shots towards the end of the first half to keep the team in the game.

There are times you can tell Chris Paul just wants it more than anyone on the court and it became apparent at certain points during the game. At one point, CP3 fell onto his left elbow and stayed on the ground for a minute. However, he was able to keep playing, applied some ice on the bench and came back in for a couple of minutes in the 4th. Thank the Point God for elbow pads.

The Clippers travel to Minnesota Wednesday to face the Timberwolves before the second night of a back-to-back in Memphis.
