During a recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Clippers’ guard J.J. Redick revealed that Kevin Garnett got in shape by imitating Beyoncé.
Kevin Garnett loves him some Beyoncé. (Who doesn’t though?) According to the Clippers’ own J.J. Redick, he loves her so much that he imitated her when working out.
J.J. (understandably) was confused when Garnett brought the subject up to him. KG explained:
"“One time I saw her working out, and she was doing her dances and she was singing while she was doing her dancing,” Garnett said to Redick. “So then I’m thinking to myself, maybe I should run and sing at the same time. So in the offseason, I would go to Malibu and I would go down to the beach, and when I run on the beach I would be like ‘Lalala lalala lalala,’ while I’m running. So then, when I get on the court and I’m getting back on defense and I’m talking on defense, I don’t get tired.”"
Kevin Garnett imitating Beyoncé is something that many of us never thought we would imagine. Seeing him run down the beach (presumably Baywatch style) while singing has to be one of the stranger sights one would come across.
Kevin Garnett was recently hired as a full time consultant for the Clippers. He is working with the Clippers big men, especially center DeAndre Jordan. Doc Rivers had wanted Jordan to be a defensive minded player like Garnett when he joined the Clippers, so having KG work with DJ is a dream come true.

The Big Ticket has kept busy during his retirement. Before signing on with the Clippers, he was providing his consulting around the league and also has his on segment, Area 21, on TNT’s Inside the NBA.
