As the playoffs near, the Clippers need to get healthy. With Blake Griffin making his return a couple of weeks ago, we continue to wait for Chris Paul.  Our wait may be over though.

More from Clipperholics

Its no secret that the Clippers are a dominate team when healthy. That’s actually been the story the past several years: getting healthy. Blake Griffin returned from injury a few weeks ago, and he has been on fire. We have just been waiting on Chris Paul, who tore his thumb ligament about five weeks ago. Chris was scheduled to miss at least six weeks due to surgery.

The level Blake Griffin has been playing at has been just enough to keep the Clippers in contention for home-court in the playoffs. But with Golden State and San Antonio next on the schedule, that was looking like it was going to be in jeopardy.

Then we got this magical tweet in the middle of all the trade deadline chaos:

Let me tell you, this is better than most any trade the Clippers could’ve pulled off. Chris Paul does so much for the team. He constantly bring that mental edge the team has been lacking in his absence.

Chris Paul’s imminent return doesn’t guarantee wins against either Golden State or San Antonio. It does mean that there is an greater chance the Clippers can make the push for the 3rd seed. We will keep you guys updated on Chris Paul’s status for Thursday’s game.
