The LA Clippers are looking toward this offseason, but rumbles of LeBron James to a LA team might have the LA Clippers thinking of building instead of break up of the core.

LeBron James is coming off a finals loss to the Golden State Warriors just days ago. As if the focus on this offseason wasn’t enough, Adrian Wojnarowki mentions on his podcast (8:59 in the pod) the possibility of LeBron James joining either the LA Clippers or Lakers.

"I think within Cleveland and around the league, they feel that he’s very much in play to leave again and likely head out West to one of the two L.A. teams. The Lakers could very well be a target."

LeBron has said he wanted to bring a title to Cleveland and he did that last season, but Woj feels like he’s obliged with that in coming back home and winning last season. Woj and Bobby Marks discuss in detail about the 85 million dollar in just tax the Cavs would have to pay. They also mention that the team could be hitting the ceiling regarding talent.

Chris Paul and LeBron James have spoken at times of joining forces and playing together. LeBron has left before to team up with a buddy, so why wouldn’t he do it again?

The LA Clippers could see this in a couple of different lights. The Clippers are at the cross roads and if this LeBron James idea becomes a reality, they need to have money to sign him, which they don’t.

The talk about breaking up the team seems to never end and the early exit again from the playoffs have the Clippers thinking long-term. The Clippers are at a huge crossroad, and their luxury tax bill might just get a lot higher this off-season.
