Which LA Clippers players would Santa’s reindeer be?

These LA Clippers players are a little too similar to Santa’s reindeer. You know: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Cupid.

“Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen! On Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!” A Visit from St. Nicholas (to the LA Clippers).

Dasher: J.J. Redick

Similarly to the Clippers’ beloved shooting guard, Dasher is the runner of the team. His constant motion and speed is vital to the performance of the entire group. Not only is he in amazing shape, but he’s one of the most trustworthy, hardworking, and responsible members. You can always count on him to play his part, and play it well, just like J.J. Redick.

Dancer: Jamal Crawford

Graceful, nimble, and elegant are all words to describe both of them. Jamal Crawford‘s floaters and shots are all executed with such a gentle touch — that of the likes of Dancer. Not to mention the way Jamal dances with the ball, which often results in opposing players dancing with him, trying to keep up.

Prancer: Chris Paul

Many would describe Chris Paul as majestic, glorious, magical, or even the “perfect point guard”. It’s in this way that he and Prancer are alike. Although they both know they are the best at what they do, they remain humble and a team player, living and dying for their team.

Vixen: Luc Mbah a Moute

Ever since he’s been on the team, Luc Mbah a Moute has always been steady and dependable, just like Vixen. Vixen isn’t the most popular, and tends to fly under the radar (no pun intended). He can go up against the best in the Reindeer Games, but is often overlooked. He fits in the group perfectly, and who knows, maybe he’s the piece Santa was looking for all along.

Comet: Blake Griffin

Situated in the middle of formation of reindeer, Comet is the embodiment of the group; together, they all look like a comet flying through the sky. In that case, the group can only go as far as Comet takes them. In addition, both Comet and Blake Griffin are extremely powerful. They always pull their weight and find a way to be effective in the toughest of storms.

Cupid: Austin Rivers

Cupid is full of spirit, and his high energy is often contagious, which is quite Austin Rivers-esque. Being the “little brother” of the group, they often make decisions that leave others confused, but the others have no other choice but to tolerate it. At the end of the day, Cupid and Austin can put up a fight like none other, and play with more heart than anyone.

Donner: DeAndre Jordan

Donner is the German word for “thunder”, which is more than enough to describe these two. Like DeAndre Jordan on the basketball court, Donner’s presence never goes unnoticed. Though he’s the toughest of the group, he’s easily the goofiest of the group. He knows his role and does his job, but not without having a little fun.

Blitzen: Raymond Felton

Blitzen is another high energy reindeer who never fails to get those around him pumped, just like Raymond Felton. The team feeds off of his energy and productivity, and he always brings it when we need it most. There’s a reason Blitzen is at the front of the formation of reindeer.

Rudolph: Paul Pierce

Hear me out.

If you recall, Rudolph was the reindeer no one really appreciated, and he was totally unfit to run with the big dogs (or reindeer). The only reason Santa recruited him was to use his shiny nose. It was a last minute decision, because it was a horribly stormy night and there was no other way for Santa to navigate through the blizzard.

The other eight reindeer simply had to tolerate him, because after all, he was a playing a part that no one else could. It speaks for itself why Rudolph and Paul Pierce are similar. And maybe one day, he’ll have a save-the-night moment too.
