Alex Caruso

NBA fans know Alex Caruso as an extremely valuable three-and-D wing who acts as the perfect point of attack defender. Add in his athleticism and shooting ability, and he becomes a piece that several teams in contention for a championship are dying to have.

Oftentimes, the value of players like Caruso can be understated simply because they play for a team that does not win many games. But make no mistake about it, Caruso would absolutely be able to elevate a playoff team to the level of a true contender.

Caruso could be worth pursuing for the Clippers largely because he would not be replacing the role of a James Harden or a Russell Westbrook. He would likely come off the bench, where he would have an even greater chance to dominate against non-starter level competition.

Alternatively, if the Clippers needed to send away Terance Mann in order to acquire Caruso, he could easily slide into the starting lineup and operate in a secondary ball-handler type role. Of course, the potential trade package would be a major factor in making a true determination on whether to pursue any of these players. But it feels safe to say that Alex Caruso would be an excellent fit in LA.

Verdict: Pursue
