The In-Season Tournament has been a fun new experiment in the NBA this season. The LA Clippers ultimately did not qualify for the semifinals in Las Vegas, but it has still been fun to watch up-and-coming teams like the Indiana Pacers play their hearts out.

On Saturday, the Pacers will go head to head with the Lakers for the right to claim the first ever NBA Cup at the In-Season Tournament championship. After the Clippers' rivals advanced past the Pelicans in the semifinals, it was reported that the Lakers would not be hanging a banner if they win on Saturday.

This is in line with their tradition of only hanging banners for winning championships. Naturally, Lakers fans took this opportunity to make jokes about their rivals, saying that the Clippers would absolutely be hanging a banner if they were to win it.

Lakers fans on social media took their chance to poke fun at the Clippers

These comments are nothing more than the latest iteration of the constant back-and-forth between two cross-town rivals. Of course, the Lakers have more history and more postseason success than the Clippers, so they are going to take every opportunity to remind Clipper fans of that.

Granted, the In-Season Tournament is a new development, and not everyone is quite sure what to make of it yet. So rest assured the fanbase of either team would be gloating about making the Finals in Las Vegas, regardless of team history.

Lakers fans can have their fun. The Clippers only need to focus on themselves, and they will have a chance to achieve something far more valuable than an In-Season Tournament title this season.
