P.J. Tucker has humorous quote about Clippers' roster
By Will Eudy
From the moment the LA Clippers agreed to the trade for James Harden, there were obvious questions about how the team's roster would work as currently constructed. With so many players who play best with the ball in their hands, a lot of figuring would have to be done.
Head Coach Tyronn Lue and the players have done a solid job at working through their problems in the first month-plus with James Harden on the roster. With that said, there are still ways the Clippers can improve and get the most out of what they currently have.
Of course, the other player that came to LA in the Harden trade was P.J. Tucker. In an article from The Athletic, a humorous quote from P.J. summarized the Clippers' difficulties this season. "There's not enough basketballs on the planet for this team, really," said Tucker.
P.J. Tucker's words accurately summarize the Clippers' situation
While funny, P.J.'s words accurately describe what the Clippers are dealing with right now. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Russell Westbrook and James Harden have all taken a team to the playoffs on their backs before, and trying to find the right balance to get the most out of an aging but star-studded group is immensely difficult.
A roster with this much big-name talent has scarcely been seen in NBA history before. But when it has, it has often come crashing down. The Clippers have put themselves in a very high-risk, high-reward situation.
On paper, some might think this team could cruise to a Finals appearance. But the challenge of actually making that happen is much more than meets the eye.
