We are all aware of how Paul George's situation with the LA Clippers ultimately turned out. The contract negotiations between him and the front office seemed to be shaky at best throughout the whole process, and PG supposedly wanted more than the organization was willing to give him.

As a result, he chose to join the Philadelphia 76ers and join a contending team in the East. It was a frustrating process for Clippers fans, but it was ultimately business as usual. Sometimes in this league a contract negotiation goes south and there is simply no coming back from it.

But as more details come out, this development still becomes increasingly annoying to fans in Los Angeles, and the latest news tidbit is no exception. On a special episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the former Clippers forward brought on Philadelphia-based rapper, Lil Dicky.

Paul George took inspiration from rapper Lil Dicky in signing with 76ers

In the episode, George talks about a free agency video Lil Dicky made that ultimately played a part in swaying his decision toward joining the 76ers. "That video sold me," said George. "What hit me was the saving money."

Apparently, Lil Dicky took the approach of reminding PG how much cheaper cost of living is in a place like Philadelphia is as opposed to Los Angeles. Clearly, the message struck a cord with him when it was time to make a decision.

Many who are familiar with Lil Dicky's discography will likely think of his 2015 hit song "Save Dat Money," which makes numerous references to... well, saving money. It is certainly understandable that Paul George would want to be smart with his finances. But even so, hearing that a rapper's personalized video to him actually swayed his free agency decision has to feel a bit cringe-inducing for Clippers fans.
